# Swappy on Telegram

[Swappy](https://t.me/SwappyCryptoBot) (@SwappyCryptoBot) is a Telegram bot for cross-chain crypto swaps on the [Chainflip](https://chainflip.io) protocol. Swap in the Swappy Mini App or step by step in a private chat, share live quotes in any chat, and get a message when your swap is done. You send from your own wallet, and Swappy never holds your funds.

## Swap in the Mini App

Open [Swappy](https://t.me/SwappyCryptoBot) and tap the **Swappy** button next to the message field. The Mini App takes you through your swap on one screen:

1. Pick the assets and the amount, with a live quote of what you receive after fees.
2. Add your destination and refund addresses: paste them, pick one you used recently on that network, or scan a QR code.
3. Review your swap, then tap **Swap!**
4. Send the exact amount to the deposit address, with a QR code and copy buttons.
5. Follow your swap to **Completed**.

## Swap in the chat

Prefer chatting? Send `/swap` in your private chat with Swappy and it guides you step by step, or send `/swap 0.5 eth btc` to start from a quote. These commands work in the private chat:

- `/swap`: start a swap, step by step.
- `/quote 0.5 eth btc`: a live quote.
- `/status`: your last 10 swaps and their progress. Add a reference number to look up one swap.
- `/help`: how Swappy works.

Once your deposit address is ready, Swappy sends it with a QR code, the exact amount and the time to send it by: within an hour.

## Messages while you wait

Swappy messages you when your deposit has arrived, and again when the swap is completed, with the amount you received. It also tells you if your swap failed, or if the deposit address expired before any funds arrived.

## Quotes in any chat

Type `@SwappyCryptoBot 0.5 eth btc` in any chat and tap the quote to share it. When a ticker exists on more than one network, like ETH on Ethereum and on Arbitrum, you get a quote per network to choose from. Whoever sees the shared quote can tap **Swap now** to open it in the Mini App, or **Swap in chat** to continue in a private chat with Swappy. ## Swappy in your group

[Add Swappy to a group](https://t.me/SwappyCryptoBot?startgroup=swappy) and its members can ask for quotes with `/quote 0.5 eth btc` or `@SwappyCryptoBot 0.5 eth btc`. Swaps never happen in the group: `/swap` and `/status` send members to a private chat with Swappy, so their addresses stay private. Swappy only sees commands and messages that start with @SwappyCryptoBot, not the rest of the conversation.

## In your language

Swappy speaks 29 languages and uses the one your Telegram app is set to: Belarusian, Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Kazakh, Korean, Malay, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian, Uzbek and Vietnamese. Any other language gets English. Swap announcements are in English.

## Swap announcements

Every swap is announced in the [Swappy Telegram group](https://t.me/swappy_crypto), without mentioning who made it. Once it completes, the announcement gets a reply with the amount received. The group is also the place for questions.

## Good to know

- Send **exactly** the amount from your deposit instructions. More than that is still swapped, but at the market rate at that moment, and funds sent to an expired deposit address can't be recovered.
- Every swap has a minimum price 2% below its quote. If the market moves further than that, Chainflip keeps retrying the swap for a while, and if the price doesn't come back, your deposit is sent back to your refund address.
- Swappy keeps your Telegram user ID with your swaps, so it can message you about them and list them. See [Privacy](https://swappy.be/privacy).
